Why we insist on building the B01 here

A premium bike can be designed anywhere and assembled anywhere. We chose to think through and build the B01 here, in Québec — and in today’s economic climate, that choice feels more relevant than ever.

What we can honestly claim

The RFC (Resin Flow Composite) technology that defines the B01 is the result of eight years of in-house research and development. The wax mandrels that shape our carbon tubes are machined here, on our own CNC — a skill we chose to keep in-house rather than outsource. Our RT40 and GT24 carbon rims are made in Montréal.

Baumier is also a certified B Corp — a recognition that assesses our entire business practice, not just our marketing.

What we don’t claim

A premium bike is never 100% local — and we’d rather be honest than sell you a simplified story. Our hubs, spokes, and drivetrain groups come from established partners in Germany, Belgium, Taiwan, and elsewhere — the best in their field, wherever they happen to be. That’s true for Baumier, as it is for nearly every premium bike manufacturer in the world.

What matters to us

What we can control, and what we choose to do here, is the heart of the bike: the design, the engineering, the frame and rim manufacturing. That’s where the real added value of a B01 lives — and that’s where we’ve chosen to invest, year after year, rather than move offshore.

In an economic climate where who gets your money matters more than ever, we think it’s worth being transparent about what’s made here, and what isn’t.
