At Baumier we know that riding the long haul
means making sustainable choices
Shifting toward the future of cycling

Our commitment
Every link in the chain is geared towards reducing the environmental footprint of the Baumier ecosystem. We have set up a rigorous system (inspired by ISO 14001) to guide our actions and limit the ecological impact of each step of the production process, while considering the challenges associated with carbon fiber.

Sustainability in Motion
Environment, Society and Governance (ESG) factors guide our commitment to sustainable design. The choice we make reflect our desire to innovate, preserve the planet and support our communities.

5 Key Elements of a Sustainable Supply Chain
Eco-Design
We aim to minimize the environmental footprint of every product, from the sourcing of materials to its recyclability, without compromising its lifespan.
Recycling carbon fiber and titanium has been a concern for us from the outset. Recognizing the environmental challenges associated with these materials, we offer high-quality products with a lifetime warranty, and actively seek innovative solutions to extend their lifespan and facilitate recycling.
Our material sourcing is a testament to our rigorous approach. We select suppliers who are committed to protecting our planet; a conscious approach to reducing transport distances, limiting GHG emissions and supporting the local economy.
Fewer raw materials, less waste. Each Baumier product is carefully designed, using braided fibers to avoid waste and reduce waste at every stage, while guaranteeing exceptional performance.

Maintenance
Our products are built to last. Every part is designed to be easily repaired or replaced. Our bikes are guaranteed for life.

End of life
Our research and development department is pushing back the boundaries to improve the recycling of complex materials and allow the resulting fiber to be put back into circulation. This approach embodies our vision of a circular and responsible future.
At Baumier, every product is designed with its final stage in mind:
- Pyrolysis recycling is a promising method of separating materials and giving them a second life. In collaboration with École Polytechnique de Montréal, we are exploring this solution for the eventual recycling of epoxy-impregnated carbon fibre.
- Energy recovery involves producing energy by gasification of non-recyclable components, thus reducing the amount of waste to be landfilled.

Community involvement
Our commitment to the environment is also embodied in tangible actions led by our employees and involving our community.
- 1% to the community and 1% to the planet: we devote a portion of our revenues to supporting high-impact environmental projects.
- Employee engagement: our team takes concrete action, such as tree planting, taking part in community events and raising awareness of eco-friendly practices.
Creating a sustainable future means taking action today with and for our community.

Governance

Compare and choose
In the cycling community, Baumier stands out by reducing the carbon footprint of its Quebec-made products.
Thanks to our choice of suppliers, Quebec hydroelectricity, our zero-emission delivery, our end-of-life handling and our eco-friendly practices, Baumier products have a significantly lower carbon footprint than comparable products.
We use sustainable materials and innovative processes to breakaway from the pack.
